How to fix Wi-Fi problems on your iPad

If your iPad has Wi-Fi connection problems, browsing becomes impossible. The problems can vary from an unstable connection to the inability to connect to any network.

Check the Wi-Fi settings

Before looking for advanced solutions, check that Wi-Fi is turned on on your iPad. You can do this by going to Settings > Wi-Fi. Make sure the switch is in the “on” position and that the iPad is connected to the correct network. If the network appears in the list, select it and check whether the connection is stable.

Restart the iPad and the router

Restarting the iPad and the router can solve many connection problems. To restart the iPad, press and hold the power button until the “Power Off” option appears and then turn it on again. It is also helpful to turn off the router, wait a few seconds and turn it on again. This can help reset the connection.

Forget the Wi-Fi network and reconnect

If the problem persists, try forgetting the network and reconnecting. To do this, go to Settings > Wi-Fi, select the problematic network and tap “Forget This Network”. Then, select the network again and enter the password once more. This process can resolve configuration problems that prevent a stable connection.

Update your iPad software

Apple regularly releases updates that fix bugs and improve the connectivity of its devices. Go to Settings > General > Software Update and check whether updates are available. Installing the latest version of iOS can fix Wi-Fi problems caused by bugs in the operating system.

Reset the network settings

Resetting the network settings can resolve Wi-Fi configuration problems on the iPad. To do this, go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. This will delete all saved network configurations, including Wi-Fi passwords, so you will need to re-enter your networks' passwords. This option is useful if the problem persists after trying other methods.

Check the signal strength

A weak signal can be the cause of connection problems. Check that your iPad is close enough to the router and without obstacles that interfere with the signal, such as walls or electronic devices. If the signal is still weak, consider using a Wi-Fi signal extender to expand the coverage in your home or workplace.

Check the router settings

Some of the router's security settings can prevent your iPad from connecting. Access the router's settings (usually through a specific IP address) and check that MAC filtering and other security settings are not blocking the iPad's access. If you are not sure how to access it, check your router's manual or contact your internet provider.
